We’re delighted to announce the winners of the Women in FCERM Awards 2022!
Sponsored by Jacobs, the awards celebrate professionals of all genders and organisations in the FCERM sector, who make a real difference to gender equality in the workplace and across the industry.
The judges focused on leadership of gender equality in FCERM, influencing change, promoting a culture of fairness, inclusion and respect, and developing and empowering people and peers within each nomination.
Winner of Inspiring Individual who has championed gender equality, diversity and inclusion within their organisation:
Anna Lau, Turner & Townsend TEAM2100 Managed Commercial Services Team Lead
Anna was recognised by the judges for her dedication and commitment to champion gender equality, diversity and inclusion within her organisation. The judges concluded that her passion for taking forward inclusive activities and initiatives above and beyond her day job demonstrated fantastic leadership in improving fairness for women, particularly those with caring responsibilities. Her support of women’s development in her organisation is creating an inclusive culture for all.
Anna said: I am humbly thankful to be selected to receive this award by WiFCERM. It is a great motivation for me to continue to drive diversity, equality and inclusion in the construction industry. Being nominated by Turner & Townsend was a great honour, they have provided me a safe platform to break the bias and drive real change. There is still much work to be done to achieve real gender equality in the construction sector and I hope the future generations will be able to enjoy it. I feel very proud of being part of this change.

Winner of Inspiring Individual who has championed gender equality, diversity and inclusion across the FCERM sector:
Clare Rodgers, Environment Agency NEAS Operational Unit Manager (North East Hub)
Clare was recognised by the judges for the outstanding contribution she has made to champion gender equality, diversity and inclusion across the FCERM sector. The judges were hugely impressed by the strong and proactive leadership she has shown to drive and deliver improvements across the sector and the significant effort she has given to change how women think and feel about themselves at work through a dedicated programme of mentoring, coaching and training.
Clare said: I am amazed and delighted to receive this award from WiFCERM! I have really enjoyed supporting others to challenge gender biases across the sector over the last year – it’s a key passion of mine, but can sometimes be hard to do alongside a busy day job, so this recognition is lovely. Special thanks to Niki Roach at CIWEM for my nomination and to the Environment Agency for supporting my work in the wider FCERM sector.

Congratulations to both winners!
