2024 Awards now open

Women in FCERM Awards 2024 are now closed

We are delighted to announce entries for the 2024 Women in FCERM Awards are now open!

Launched in 2019, we have celebrated professionals of all genders and organisations in the FCERM sector, who make a real difference to gender equality in the workplace and across the industry.

This year, we have three categories:        

Rising Star Award: An individual who is in the earlier stages of their career in FCERM who, over the past year, has proactively influenced and promoted gender equality, diversity and inclusion.

Equality Leadership Award: An experienced individual who, over the past year, has proactively influenced and promoted gender equality, diversity and inclusion.

The Laura Baird Special Recognition Award: in memory of Laura who passed away in 2022. This award recognises an individual who, throughout their career, has been and continues to be, an outstanding role model to all those around them. 

Angela Barber, Hydrologist at the Environment Agency, spoke about working with Laura: “Laura was an inspiration to many and all those who worked with her could see her passion for hydrology and flood risk. She was a role model who shared her technical expertise and life experience effortlessly and encouraged all with those who worked alongside her with enthusiasm and energy.

She left a lasting impression as a mentor with her kindness and caring approach, always being interested in you. She has influenced a generation of modellers and hydrologist in the FCERM sector, who continue her legacy of inspiring others and never giving up.”
